Profile
Hello, I'm Avital.
I'm a practical mechanical engineer who specialises in metallurgy and failure analysis: finding out why materials and parts fail, and how to stop it happening.
I trained at the Air Force Technical School in Haifa and spent seven years in the Israeli Air Force, first in the metallurgical lab and then as a process engineer for aerospace parts. Since then I've worked as a metallurgist in a leading laboratory, and today I lead quality at Aero-Magnesium.
Born a Berdichevsky.

Metallographic examination with optical microscopy and SEM, coatings, mechanical and environmental testing, and chemical analysis. Led failure investigations with a focus on corrosion.
Process Engineer
Wrote engineering instructions for producing and repairing aerospace parts. Found the root causes of production-line problems and put preventive measures in place. Brought in new technologies, ran QA for coated parts, programmed and operated the HVOF coating facility, researched fire damage in aircraft, and managed staff.
Metallurgical Lab Technician
Prepared metallurgical samples, ran tests and wrote engineering reports on the production, restoration and failure analysis of aviation parts.
